Program Manager

Turned around a failing project with serious team morale and behavior issues:

·         After termination of previous project manager, took over Aspect Network Router 1.0, a redundant, mission-critical pre-call router with a $4+ million budget and projected first-year revenues of $25 million.  Project was 1 year behind schedule and slipping almost day for day; team members were fighting publicly.

·         Revised unrealistic schedule and feature content; obtained executive and team buy-in on new feature set/delivery dates.

·         Improved team productivity, eliminated absenteeism, public fights, refusal to attend meetings.  Ended personality conflicts by resolving issues promptly, brokering agreements between entrenched functional areas, and escalating to management where needed.  Rebuilt trust with project team.

·         Instituted weekly meetings to manage dependencies with two other projects; coached those project managers through their own project management issues.

·         After turnaround and other Aspect successes, was offered a Program Director position, managing Network Router and its two related projects.

 

Directed and deployed two breakthrough products in Aspect’s computer telephony line:

 

·         Directed all aspects of development, testing, and alpha/beta deployment for Aspect Workflow Server 1.0, a computer telephony integration product with $4 million budget and projected first-year revenues of $5 million.
