Tien's Travel Blog:

Photos from a 17-day trip to China in September 2007
Ghana photos, from a 3-week trip to Ghana in early 2007. The main focus of my trip was African textiles, but I found plenty of other trouble to get into as well...
Thailand photos, from my two month tour of Thailand.
Cambodia photos, including the fabled Ruins of Angkor.
Vietnam photos, from two weeks in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon, Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, and Halong Bay.

Photos from Laos, a country renowned for its beautiful scenery, laid-back lifestyle, and friendly people.

I spent 8 days in Vientiane, the capital, networking around the AIDS NGOs and weaving community, while enjoying some absolutely wonderful California-style cafes. Currently I'm in Vangvieng, enjoying the scenery and boating up and down the Mekong River. At left, sunset over the Mekong, in Vientiane.

Rewalsar, India, and a few photos from Dharamsala. Rewalsar, in Tibetan, is Tso Pema. It's a small town sacred to Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Sikhism...and a great place for meditating.
Various travel crafts I brought along with me on my Southeast Asia trip. On my trip, I handspun and hand-knit a blue silk circular shawl from 4 oz of a very lovely silk roving I bought in California. I didn't have a set of dpns to start, so I carved five double-pointed knitting needles from a piece of bamboo while I was on Ko Chang.
Silk weaving photos, showing the process from start to finish. (I'm reeling silk in the photo.)
