I spent 8 days in Vientiane, the capital, networking around the AIDS NGOs and weaving community, while enjoying some absolutely wonderful California-style cafes. Various travel crafts I brought along with me on my Southeast Asia trip. On my trip, I handspun and hand-knit a blue silk circular shawl from 4 oz of a very lovely silk roving I bought in California. I didn't have a set of dpns to start, so I carved five double-pointed knitting needles from a piece of bamboo while I was on Ko Chang. |
